So how does it work?

Technicians will create your aligners out of strong plastic, using digital images and exact moulds taken of your teeth. In this way, the patient can be sure that treatment is tailored to their exact needs. The aligners are designed to gradually move the teeth, so will differ in shape and size at each stage of the process.

With Invisalign Lite, the procedure is much quicker than with the original technology. The patient will have their aligner changed roughly once every two weeks until results are achieved, and you will be required to wear the aligners for 22 hours a day.

How are teeth straightened?

Glasgow Invisalign Lite braces are unique in that they are custom-made for your teeth. Like ordinary braces, they apply force to alter the positioning of your teeth. The difference is that each aligner is created to accommodate the movement of your teeth during treatment progression.

Is Invisalign Lite suitable for me?

Invisalign Lite is not suitable for everybody. They will only be recommended to patients who have minor problems, such as slight overcrowding, small gaps between the teeth, mild crookedness and a lack of alignment between the upper and lower teeth. Invisalign Lite has also been used on those who have had orthodontic treatment in the past but have suffered a relapse. For more serious orthodontic problems Invisalign Lite will not be suggested, though there are always the original Invisalign braces to be considered in such cases.

What else do I need to know about Invisalign Lite?

• Invisalign Lite will have very little effect on your daily life. The discreet nature of the treatment means that most people don't even notice you are having your teeth straightened.
• Aligners should only be removed for eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth. This allows for the 22 hour-a-day timeslot you are required to wear them.
• Potential side-effects include mild discomfort and there is the possibility of speech being affected. However, these issues are temporary and should disappear in a couple of days.
• Skye Dental Group advises against smoking during treatment as the aligners can become stained and the discreet nature of the system consequently ruined. You should also avoid chewing gum.
• It is important to keep your aligners clean; they can be cleaned when you brush your teeth.

How will Invisalign Lite benefit me?
