Composite Bonding and Porcelain Veneer to Treat Cosmetic Dental Issues

The patient presented complaining of the upper left lateral incisor being brown in colour.
She also felt that her front teeth were a little uneven due to an old failed retainer.
The orthodontic retainer had de-bonded at a couple of positions causing drifting of front teeth. This is a common complaint with old retainers which are not regularly cleaned or checked. This is particularly the case in susceptible patients, when a removable retainer isn’t worn at night to protect the teeth from additional clenching forces.

Covering a brown tooth

The patient wasn’t keen on the proposal that cosmetic braces could easily correct the drifting. After our consultation she chose  to have composite bonding on two teeth to disguise the slippage of some incisors.
In addition to this we placed a porcelain veneer which disguised the brown appearance of the upper left lateral incisor.
Zara was happy with the final result which cost £560 including the cost of a new removable orthodontic retainer.
