Mucking In: The Strathcarron Hospice Swamp Challenge 2017

Four brave ladies from Appletree Dental Care battled through mud, sweat and fears to help raise several hundred pounds for a very worthwhile cause.

Laura Herdman, Andrea Wilson, Laura Bell and Cherie Murphy were among a couple of hundred hardy souls who took part in the Strathcarron Hospice Swamp Challenge.

The ladies faced a two-mile long obstacle course which involved wading through mud-filled streams and crawling on mud underneath cargo netting. The threat of creepy-crawlies was ever present, adding to the testing conditions.

But after the hour-long trial at Cloybank Estate, Banknock, the fearless four reckoned it was so much fun, they can’t wait to try again next year.

Strathcarron Hospice provides specialist palliative care and expert end of life care for the people of Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.
