Cosmetic Dentures

High quality cosmetic dentures look and feel a lot better than traditional false teeth.

Cosmetic Dentures Patient

Modern dentures aren’t just about being able to eat again – they’re about looking and feeling your best too. Today’s cosmetic dentures are carefully crafted to restore not only function but also appearance, helping you smile with confidence.

Dentures should fit comfortably and look completely natural. A good fit improves your quality of life, while a natural appearance helps you feel more like your former self. Whether you’d like us to replicate the look of your original teeth or you’re after a brighter, more glamorous smile, we’ll work closely with you to achieve a result you’ll be proud of.

Cosmetic dentures are designed to be discreet. In fact they should be virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Many people are familiar with the sunken appearance that can come from losing all your teeth or that telltale look of poorly fitting wallies. Our custom-made dentures are carefully designed to restore facial structure, giving you a fuller, more youthful look and boosting your self-confidence.

What is the Process for Getting Cosmetic Dentures?

We begin with a free initial consultation and examination here in Glasgow. During this visit, we’ll take impressions and key measurements to ensure your new dentures fit properly and comfortably. Once we’ve gathered all the information we need, our dental lab will get to work, using the a range of technologies and their own experience to create your custom dentures. A round of fittings and adjustments will follow to make sure everything is just right.

Are They for Me?

Cosmetic dentures tend to be ideal for patients who:

  • Have two or more missing teeth but don’t want dental implants
  • Are tired of living with long-term gaps
  • Want to replace old or uncomfortable NHS dentures
  • Are looking to restore a healthier, more attractive smile

Different Options for Cosmetic Dentures

Dentures are acrylic teeth fused to an acrylic plate and are used to replace missing teeth. They can involve a single tooth, multiple teeth or a full set of teeth. And they can fit snugly in your mouth as they are or be attached to dental implants as implant dentures.

Cobalt Chrome Dentures

A cobalt chrome denture has a metal framework and so is stronger than acrylic. It clips onto existing teeth and therefore has better retention.

Snap on Smiles

Offers a non-invasive and removable cosmetic solution comprising something like a thin, custom-fitted veneer that fits over your exisiting teeth.

Valplast cosmetic dentures

These are very strong and flexible partial dentures which can be made in thin section with pink, gum-coloured clasps.

Partial Acrylic Denture

This is a cosmetic partial acrylic denture on a cobalt chrome base. The acrylic used is of high impact resistant structure which strengthens the design and longevity. This type of prosthesis represents a removable, alternative option to dental implants.

Cosmetic Denture

Here our dental technicians have used a high impact acrylic with a contoured anatomical design which brilliantly mimics the dental anatomy of the soft tissues.

If you look a little more closely you might see that they have built in a little gum recession, which is something we might  expect in a patient from middle age onwards.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Dentures

1. What are cosmetic dentures?
Cosmetic dentures are custom-made replacement teeth designed not only to restore function but also to look as natural and attractive as possible. They are tailored to match your face, smile and preferences—whether that means replicating your original teeth or achieving a more glamorous look.

2. How do cosmetic dentures differ from standard NHS dentures?
While NHS dentures focus on basic function, cosmetic dentures offer a much higher level of fit, comfort and aesthetics. They're often made using more advanced materials and technologies, resulting in a more natural appearance and a snug, comfortable fit that better supports your facial structure.

3. Will people be able to tell I’m wearing dentures?
Not if they’re done properly. Cosmetic dentures are designed to blend seamlessly with your mouth and facial features. With today’s technology and materials, they can be virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

4. How long does the process take?
The process usually begins with a free consultation, followed by impressions, measurements, and fittings. Thanks to digital techniques, we can now produce dentures much more quickly than you might expect.

5. Are cosmetic dentures suitable for me if I still have some of my own teeth?
Yes. Cosmetic dentures can be made as partials to fill gaps, or as full sets if you’re replacing all your teeth. They’re especially useful for people who don’t want implants or are replacing old, uncomfortable dentures.

6. Will they help me eat and speak more easily?
Almost certainly. A well-fitting set of cosmetic dentures improves your ability to chew food, speak clearly and support your facial muscles—helping you look and feel more confident.
